AirDrop Mission Puerto Rico

Following the devastation left on the island or Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria in September 2017 a small Californian Tec start up decided to break new ground by trialling its aerial delivery software system alongside the AirDropBox Mini parachute system to air drop life saving supplies and medicines to communities cutoff by floodwater, mudslides and washed out roads.

Within days of the Hurricane passing Dash Systems had FAA approval for the air drop Mission, an aircraft leased and AirDropBox’s prepared for flight proving that Humanitarian airdrops need not be complicated, costly or require years of training. This year’s survey resulted in over 300 nominated solutions suggested by aid agencies, NGOs, United Nations and the private sector companies across the world and we are honoured to have been selected to appear in this year’s edition under Essential Aid Supplies.
